The first school at Ganmain was called Derry, however this name was later changed to Ganmain Public School in 1895.

The school operated as a Central School for many years but in 1971 it again became a Primary School, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Ganmain School is set in beautiful spacious surroundings and has more than ample accommodation for its students.

In 1992 the school celebrated its Centenary and now has well maintained buildings and playing areas.

In 2003 a covered outdoor learning/play area was built providing a large shaded area for students, staff and visitors.

Ganmain Public School operates in accordance with the NSW Department Education and Training requirements.
